March exhibition at Llanwrtyd & District Heritage and Arts Centre

April 18, 2024 By Visit Powys

HERITAGE CENTRE OPENS FOR ITS NINTH SEASON

From Thursday 28th March 2024

The Llanwrtyd & District Heritage and Arts Centre opens its doors again at the end of March with a colourful exhibition in galleries. Three artists, all exhibiting at the Centre for the first time, are displaying a diverse selection of work including traditional and abstract scenes, portraits and still life.

David Henry from Pembrokeshire uses a variety of media to produce his loose and expressive landscapes and drawings whilst Mike Shiels, who is based in Llandrindod Wells, also produces landscapes in addition to his portraits and still life work.

They are joined by Michelle Slee from Swansea who is exhibiting her collection “Lyrical Landscapes, Painting the Unseen” – abstract images creating ethereal, dreamlike atmospheres.

Making a return visit are ceramicists Karen Williams and Adrian Munday both of whom specialise in the art of Raku to produce their work. Adrian allows the glazes to enhance his creations whilst Karen’s work also includes vibrantly coloured, eye catching pieces.
Whether you want to learn more about the Heritage of the area through our interactive displays and exhibition panels, or see its beauty transformed into works of art a visit to the Centre is a wonderful way to spend an hour or two.

The Centre re-opens on Thursday 28 th March and is open 10am – 4pm Thursday to Sunday plus Bank Holidays throughout the season.
